Every calculator includes US and metric inputs, editable waste and package coverage, and a practical shopping list.
Measure once.
Order with evidence.
Enter each measurement directly, review the assumptions, and use the rounded package quantities to prepare the order.
- 1
Trace the finished footprint
Measure where material will actually be installed. Split curves into short sections and use a carefully measured average width rather than one oversized bounding rectangle.
- 2
Use finished depth
Mulch, gravel and concrete quantities depend on installed thickness. For compacted materials, enter the finished compacted depth and confirm loose-delivery allowance with the supplier.
- 3
Plan access and boundaries
Delivery position, gates, slopes, edging, drainage and underground utilities affect the job even when they do not change the basic volume formula.
Landscape calculator questions
How should I measure a curved bed or path?
Break the curve into shorter sections, measure an average width for each and add them as separate entries. This usually represents the footprint better than one full rectangular box.
Can cubic yards be converted directly to tons?
Only with the verified density of the exact aggregate, including its moisture and gradation. Use the volume result, then apply the supplier's material-specific conversion.
Does the cost include delivery and equipment?
No. The editable primary material price is a planning total. Delivery minimums, short-load fees, excavation, compaction and equipment rental vary by supplier and site.
